Medical Transcription as a Career
Click to Get More InfoMedical transcriptionists are more in demand than ever before. Transcription services now range from small one-person home-based businesses to sophisticated high-tech corporations. Medical transcription services serve client hospitals throughout the nation. Some services employ both “on-site” and home-based medical transcriptionists. Medical transcription is a career that easily moves across geographic borders. Doctors offices, hospitals and outpatient clinics are just a few of the healthcare facilities that need your help in transcribing medical records.

Many areas of the country are desperate for qualified medical transcriptionists. Technological advances have allowed medical transcriptionists in one part of the country to work from home for employers located elsewhere.

Benefits
Medical transcription offers a wide variety of benefits: Good financial returns for your efforts, a foot in the door with the medical profession, and all of the advantages of working in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Medical transcription jobs can lead to all kinds of related work such as medical billing and medical coding. START HERE AND LAUNCH A WHOLE NEW CAREER FOR YOURSELF!

Earnings
Salaries for properly trained medical transcriptionists range widely. A salary estimate for the first year can range from $20,000 to $30,000 and up.

Goal-Setting
Approach your MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION CAREER step-by-step. The most important step is QUALITY TRAINING. Here at Andrews & Holbrook Training Corporation WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THAT.

Andrews & Holbrook Training Corporation specializes in medical transcription education centered on career development.

Suggestions for increasing your earning potential

  • Know the difference between typing and medical transcription. Get the required training before representing yourself as a medical transcriptionist
  • Get the best education
  • Practice professional behavior and appearance
  • Surround yourself with supportive “pros” to help you achieve your career goals
  • Keep your quality high and your ethics sound
  • Keep the commitments you make for completing the work

How much education and training is needed?
Medical transcription requires a great deal more than fast typing and knowing some medical terms. Even though our students complete our course quickly, it’s important to know that medical transcriptionists always need to keep up with changes in technology.

Certification
Upon completion of the program at Andrews & Holbrook Training Corporation, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. No school can provide you with a designation of CMT. That can only be obtained by completing an examination given by American Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). Certification is a worthy goal, although it is not necessary to be a CMT in order to work as a medical transcriptionist.

Employment Advantages
Our students enjoy employment advantages that other training institutes simply cannot provide. We participate in the Partners in Education (PIE) Program sponsored by MedQuist, the largest employer of medical transcriptionists throughout the nation.

Upon completion of our training program, you will have the opportunity to test for a position as a MedQuist transcriptionist. MedQuist will waive their standard two-year experience requirement for graduates of our training program. Andrews & Holbrook Training Corporation has met the MedQuist recommended curriculum requirement to obtain the status of Medquist's Partners in Education. Many of our graduates have passed the MedQuist transcription test and are members of the MedQuist team.
